Culture del Mondo began from a simple conviction: some of the most meaningful conversations happen when artists create something together.

For more than a decade I have developed festivals, concerts, residencies, exhibitions, and intercultural projects that bring together musicians, filmmakers, scholars, and communities across cultural, religious, and political boundaries. The goal has never been simply to present culture, but to create encounters that would not otherwise happen.

A concert can be beautiful. An encounter can change the way people see one another.

Accordi di Pace

Accordi di Pace is the project that best expresses everything Culture del Mondo has been trying to do.

The idea is simple and difficult. Two extraordinary musicians from countries or territories in conflict are invited into a shared artistic residency. They rehearse, eat, talk, listen, and gradually build a concert together. The process is documented day and night. The final performance is not the end of the project; it is the visible result of a relationship formed through music.

The final piece is always an improvisation.

That is the heart of the project. Improvisation requires listening. It requires trust. It requires responding to another human being in real time. In that moment, the political narrative gives way to a musical one.

I organized five Accordi di Pace encounters, and each one confirmed the same thing: audiences were moved not only by the music, but by the image of collaboration itself. To witness two musicians from opposing sides creating beauty together is a form of hope.

The project was later developed in conversation with the University of Barcelona, where a future edition was being explored before the pandemic interrupted the process. I continue to believe that Accordi di Pace has the potential to grow into a European network of artistic residencies, documentary films, and intercultural collaborations.

Spiritual Bridges

The project that gave birth to Culture del Mondo.

A festival dedicated to artistic dialogue between spiritual traditions. One of the most memorable concerts brought together a Gregorian chant choir with an Andalusian ensemble from Morocco. For many in the audience, the encounter transcended performance. Music became a shared sacred space.

A celebration of Malaysian culture in Rome.

Presented as part of Isola del Cinema at Isola Tiberina, the project brought traditional and contemporary Malaysian music and cinema into an Italian cultural context, including a performance by Sarawakian sape master Mathew Ngau Jau and screenings of Malaysian films.

Global connection in the time of lockdown.

Created during the COVID lockdown, this online festival connected musicians and audiences across continents at a time when physical gathering had become impossible. What began as a response to isolation became an unexpected experiment in global cultural connection.

What happens when people from different worlds make something together?

Culture del Mondo remains an ongoing practice of creating those conditions.
